PRT (Pittsburgh Regional Transit) will have a fare card system that is called Ready Fare. This card will be the new standard for anyone wishing to use the fare card for passes, and paying for fares. When someone has an inactive pass, the pass will activate when they use the card to pay for their fare. In the case of the 3 hour pass, the pass is paid for from the funds on the card. The child will receive a Ready Fare card that would be used to allow them to access the bus network. This will teach the child how to ride the bus, and I will also teach them how to read, and use the schedules. The card will be in their name which is one of the reasons of why they will receive a photo ID card. If they should lose their card, they can go to PRT’s customer support center, and replace their card that has been registered in their name.
If the child leaves, they will be able to keep their card since it is theirs. This card can continue to be used, however the child should change their communication address to the new residence address to assure that they will receive any communications that PRT may need to send.
